The sixth-generation iPad mini is one of the most compact yet powerful tablets out there.
Announced on September 14th, 2021, the iPad mini 6 packs an 8.3-inch IPS-LED display, A-15 Bionic chip, and a 19.3-watt-hour lithium-polymer battery.
All the hardware combined together makes the iPad mini 6 a powerful yet compact device.
But Whenever we talk about iPads, one question comes into every person’s mind.
How long does the battery last?
The battery of the iPad Mini 6 lasts for around 10 hours (considering continuous use), but it can vary depending on usage.
In order to get the exact data, I conducted a few tests with my iPad mini 6 and I’ve written (and discussed) the results in this article.
So, without any further ado, let’s get started.
How long does the iPad Mini 6 Battery last?
I conducted a total of 3 tests.
They are as follows:
- Test 1: (Heavy lifting) – This is basically putting the device’s power to the hardest test one can take. High-quality videos, some Video editing, and a few hours of heavy gaming. and still, the device performed pretty well. Wanna know how long it lasted? Stay with us till the end.
- Test 2: (The average) – In this test, I used the device as my primary go-to media consumption device and a daily driver.
I scrolled through social media for a while, then watched some videos, called some of my friends, streamed some music, and finally read a book on it before bed, and the results were interesting!
- Test 3: (Idle) – This test was a little bit different. I fully charged the device and left it on standby for a whole day. A few random texts, some incoming calls that I didn’t pick up, and no other interference. Does it remind you of a long day at work?
Yep, that’s exactly what we simulated.
Let’s come to the most awaited part, the results!
Following is the required table:
Test Number | Time after which Battery became 0% |
---|---|
Test 1 | 7 Hours 12 Minutes |
Test 2 | 10 Hours 47 Minutes |
Test 3 | 9 Days 17 Hours |
From the given results it is clear that:
Heavy lifting turned out to be very well, when we see the load I put on it, it held up quite well. For a compact tablet to perform this well under so much load is considered a great backup. Overall this test ended up giving us a total of 7 hours and 12 minutes.
The Average scenario is the most optimal one as that’s how most people are going to use it.
And for average usage, 10 hours 47 minutes is a pretty impressive duration.
The idle scenario was to test exactly how much battery the system drains with little to zero external interference, and the device drained just 5% of the battery being idle for a whole day.
Pretty good numbers, aren’t they?
Coming back to our primary question, that is, how long does the iPad 6 Mini battery last?
For average usage, it holds up pretty well no doubt. It lasts for around 11 hours (considering continuous use), which is certainly a great performance considering the CPU this device provides.
The iPad mini 6 will be a great choice for students as well as those who work in the design industry as with the support of 2nd gen apple pencil, it can be easily the best portable device for designers and artists.
Conclusion
In this article, I’ve discussed the results of the three tests I performed on my iPad mini 6 to find out its real battery life.
I’ll update the data in this article if they change in any of my future tests on the same device.
Now, I’d like to hear from you:
